To ensure accurate needle selection, make sure that your overlock or coverstitch machine manual indicates compatibility with the “ELx705” or “SY 2022” needle system. If the manual is not available, look for it on the overlock or coverstitch machine manufacturer’s website by specifying your model name.

Special sewing machines, such as overlock and seam machines, often require special needle systems like ELx705 or SY 2022. These unique needles are tailored to the specific model’s requirements and are not compatible with other household or overlock needles.

Like most household needles, the SCHMETZ ELx705 overlock needle has a flat shank, which ensures easy positioning in the sewing machine.

The main feature that distinguishes the ELx705 overlock needle from other household needles is the second thread groove. It helps form chain stitches, such as overlock or seam stitches, and ensures that only low thread tension is needed to create the stitches.

Like the jersey needle, the ELx705 SUK CF has a medium ball point, making it perfectly suited for knit fabrics, such as jersey or sportswear fabrics.
